I suppose I should update.
Thursday is my day off, and thus it is laundry day. Problem is, with it being my day off, I didn't feel like leaving the house, which is a huge problem when there is no laundry on site. (Big deal with the closest laundry facility being a block away...) Also, we were out of quarters and we'd already spent a lot of money this month. I really didn't want to go out and take more money out, so... I decided I would wash all my laundry by hand.
I did not know what I was getting into.
I started around 1 pm. I filled the bathtub with hot water, threw a batch of laundry in with some laundry soap and proceeded to scrub them all by hand. It required a lot of leaning over and arm strength that I discovered I did not have. You'd also be very surprised by how sweaty you will get trying to use your own hands to wash your clothes. I learned to appreciate the women years ago before the washing machine was invented.
Around 4:20, I was still at it when my coworker called and asked if I was coming in today to fill in for someone who needed to get off work early. I felt like an idiot, because I had said I was going to come in, and I'd completely forgotten. Unfortunately, I had to leave a pile of wet clothes in the bathtub for Kyle to finish up when he came home from work. Needless to say, I felt sweaty, frazzled, and anxious when I got in to work. Not a good thing when you work at a credit union.
Everything's fine now, though. We've had wet laundry hung up around the house for the past two days, but we're good now. Very interesting experience indeed.
Kyle's chosen a professor to study with. He's chosen Dr. Berges, and I would love to explain what he does, but Kyle's explained it to me three times now, and apparently whenever I try to tell people what goes on in Dr. Berges lab, I get it wrong. So if you want to know what Kyle does, ask him.
Hannah, worry not. Kyle is also working with Dr. Griffitts as a TA, and I will tell Kyle to mention to Dr. Griffitts that he is a glorified Seegmiller.

Wow! You hand washed your clothes! You are a brave woman to even consider doing it, much less actually doing it, haha! We hang dry stuff to save money on drying, but I love washing machines :) Brandon worked as a TA for Dr. Griffitts too, it's awesome how similar our husbands are, I love it!
