avant le voyage deux

Well, these past two days have been slightly hectic. Monday was mostly saying goodbye to America (went out with my mom and a friend, Helen, for a movie and lunch; afterward, Mom and I went to the Museum of Natural Science). Today was packing and running around the house as if I were a madwoman. I had just begun complimenting myself for not being too nervous about this upcoming trip when I suddenly got hit with the nerves today. I shouldn't have tempted fate.

Did a bit of shopping today. Bought a money belt, tried to find a passport cover (but couldn't find the one I was looking for). Did you know that identity theft has become that much easier? All without even taking the paperwork away from you! Apparently, the US government implanted these chips that contain all of your important information into the passport, and can be easily accessed by thieves through use of the scanning software. All they need is to activate that chip, have the right technology to read the waves it sends off, and BOOM! they have all of your identification info. So Dad and I made a little cover for it and wrapped it all up in aluminum foil. No nasty little robber is going to take my identification! (Shakes fist)

Well, aside from worrying about what I need to pack, and whether or not I have everything I need, the weather has been worrying me. All day yesterday and today, it's been raining. Hard. Mom checked the flights today, and every single one of them have been delayed. I hope and pray that the rain will let up tomorrow. I'll only have a 2 hour layover in Atlanta, and I need to be able to get through customs. If I don't, then who knows what will happen? I'll be put on another flight? And then what? How will I contact my people in France? I don't have a workable phone for France? Gah!

I'll try to leave the hysterics off of this blog.

I'll be overseas by this time tomorrow! Wow. I can hardly believe it. I will no long be on this continent. The world is big. Truly, the mind boggles.
