Comédie française
Went to see l’Avare. It’s a marvelous play by Molière, who was the playwright equivalent to Shakespeare. I went with Alexi, Jessica, and Allison right after FHE at Madame’s apartment. We waited in line to get 5 euro tickets (EUREKA!!) and when we got our tickets checked, the ushers stopped us to talk with us because they realized that we had “cute little” American accents. Then we finally went in to the play.
The theater was amazingly beautiful. All red and lit up so nicely. The stage was great, although our seats weren’t the best (we could only see half of the stage if we sat back comfortably. If we wanted to see the whole stage, we had to lean all the way forward with our elbows on the balcony. Despite all that, I thouroughly enjoyed it. It was a little confusing in the first half, but then I got the hang of it and the second half was a whole lot easier to understand. I’m really glad that I went.
