And who said military was too serious?

Can I just say? I miss Kyle. A lot.

But he's having bucket loads of fun in China. A couple days ago, he visited one of the seven wonders of the world: the Great Wall of China. Aside from all of the Chinese crawling the area, pushing him to buy water bottles or granola bars for five yuan, it was an amazing experience.

Yesterday, he went to see the Terracotta Army. Now, out of everything in China that I most want to see, it was the Terracotta soldiers. In fact, this is on my top 50 things to do before I die. Not that I had a top 50 list before. Maybe I should make one. Anyways, he talked about how there were three rooms full of these ceramic statues, and one of these room's soldiers had headless soldiers. Now, the reason for this is because their heads are made of steel, and so as time went by, people brought it upon themselves to make/save a little money by stealing the heads. What a sad, sad move on humanity's part. Why ruin such a great piece of art?

He'll be in Shanghai tomorrow.

(Allow me to intercede my own blog for a little bit - whoever is shooting off fireworks at 11:15 at night, I know you're excited for the Fourth, because I am, too. But please stop. You're ruining the peace of the night. It's annoying. Thank you.)

I've been having a fun week despite the fact Kyle's not here. What a shocker. I can still have fun??

First off, I've been very studious lately, which I might have been very surprised at last year or the year before, but seeing as my graduation date is coming up, I really want to do well in my last year. You know, go out with a bang, all that jazz. It helps that I have very exciting classes this term. I'm actually having FUN doing my homework. Wow.

Yesterday, Rachel and I (with our new freshman roommate, Chantel) went to see A Midsummer Night's Dream at Utah Shakespeare in the Park. It was an amazing rendition, but then, every interpretation of the play I've ever seen were really good. I've seen a traditional, period play, one set in the '50s, and Michelle Pfiefer. The one we saw last night wasn't really set in any time period, but I suppose it doesn't much matter since most of it takes place in a magical fairy kingdom where time periods simply don't matter. They did a fabulous job with it; they captured all of the characters very well, and I enjoyed it very much. To me, the thing that makes me feel like it was a very good Shakespeare rendition is whether or not the actors were able to make me laugh. And laugh I did. My sides were in stitches.

Today, I went out with Hannah to Walmart. While she shopped, I made goo-goo faces at Naomi, until I found a bookshelf that I really needed, because I have books stuffed in every nook and cranny in my room. I need a good place to put them. Then I resumed making faces. It was fun. Hannah's making Naomi a dress for Fourth of July, and I bet it's going to look super adorable on her!

Then I proceeded to Skype with Kyle. It was nice to hear from him, because he didn't have internet connection yesterday - therefore, no contact from him. It wasn't terrible, but still, can I help it if I miss him? It's really weird that he's not here, and I can't skip over to his apartment to talk anymore. Twenty-two days.

Tomorrow's going to be exciting. I'll probably have to post another blog tomorrow night for it.

Four things:
1) All this time when you mentioned Rachel, I thought it was our Rachel. Apparently not.
2) You should totally have a list of things you want to do before you die. I made mine my freshman year in college and have completed quite a bit of them (out of the 100 I wrote). I'll have you read it when you guys come to Houston, if you want.
3) Speaking of books, Taylor and I went on a date yesterday to Rice area in Houston to get childrens books for our sunbeam class. We ended up to going a couple places and one of them is really neat. We will have to go out there. They have collectors books. Really old books. Really awesome leather covered, silk binded, gold coated books. Kinda on the pricey side, depending on what book you want. The popular books are more. So if you and Kyle are interested, save your money and we will have to make a trip up there!
4) It's nice to see you blogging more. I found myself blogging more when I was a little down. Why can't it be the other way around. I'd rather write about all the exciting things I'm doing. I have so much to write about I don't even know where to start!
Love you!

3. That sounds like my playground. I'm excited!
