These last two days have been pretty busy and exciting. Yesterday, I had a job interview! I was so excited for it, mostly because I was under the impression that it was a daycare for children with disabilities, and that it payed enough to support us, since Kyle is having a crazy hard time landing a job.
Unfortunately, that's not the case. It's a company that offers assisted living to people with disabilities, which is fine. What wasn't fine, however, is the fact that they pay 20 cents more than minimum wage (way less than Kyle got at Wal-Mart), and the hours they offered were terrible. I was rather upset and put down by the time I got out of the interview. I really wish I could take it, but it won't help my resume, and it's not what I want to do in the long run. It's too bad that I'll probably get the job. They responded very quickly after I turned in my application, and I can't think of anything that would make my references not recommend me to them. I just hope they'll find someone better suited for the job.
Then today, Kyle's parents came down and spent time with us. It's a home game tonight for BYU basketball, and that seems to be the only time they come down, haha.
Anyway, we went to the art museum and looked at pretty pictures. I also learned their way of looking at art is very different from my family's way. My family's method: loiter at an art piece, read the tablet next to it, then ponder some more before they move onto the next piece and repeat. Kyle's family's method: rush through the exhibit and give each painting a passing glance. There were a few moments I was trying to tell Kyle how much I liked a painting before he interrupted me and rushed me out of the room so we could catch up to his parents. It was very amusing and I wasn't too frustrated by it since I'd already been through the museum at least five times now.
Afterwards, we went to Cracker Barrel for dinner. Kyle and I had gone sometime before and had really liked it. This time, not so much. I mean, the main dish was delicious. I had rainbow trout and Kyle had chicken fried steak, but the side dishes were terrible. They don't cook anything that's a vegetable very well unless it's deep fried or covered in brown sugar. The cucumber and tomato salad wasn't particularly good, and the turnip greens were absolutely terrible. I don't remember them ever tasting so bad. Otherwise, it tasted very good, and the service was very fast. Thank goodness, because it gave Kyle's parents time to get to the game on time.
Next week is going to be pretty exciting. Brandon and Hannah are going to be visiting! Yipee! I've been anticipating this for a month, and now it's practically here! They get to see our lovely house, since both of us are pretty lousy at updating our lives onto Facebook or my blog, and nobody knows what our home looks like. Oops.

Did BYU win?
Ha ha! Do you think I loitered at each piece when I went with you?
That's funny! When we went to Washington DC with your Opa, he wanted to go to things, dropping by the historical feature, looking at it, moving on, repeating. It was comical, but we could say "I was there!" I like to savor the experience!
