Crazy week!

So my parents left last Saturday after a fun week of awesomeness. We took Rachel clothes shopping for her mission, and Mom was kind enough to get me some new clothes as well! I don't know what it is about being married, but I hadn't done that kind of shopping in a long while, and it sure felt good to have something new for my closet.

They also got to come see my concert last Thursday, and the concert was a blast! All my kids were so excited to play solos and in groups, and I had so many people sign up that I had to eventually say no to them and take a few of them out of the program. It was very frustrating, because I did want every one of them to play, and I wanted them to have that opportunity. Nevertheless, the concert was a hit, and so many people congratulated me afterwards, telling me how much better they sounded from their Christmas concert! It really pays off to teach.

This past week, Kyle and I have been house hunting. I hate to leave this apartment, but the commute to BYU simply is not worth it. We wanted to be walking distance to BYU, so we went hunting. We saw so many places, and we were getting slightly frustrated, because sometimes the apartment was perfect for us, but too far away for Kyle to walk or bike. Sometimes it was perfect, except for the fact that it was one to two hundred dollars more than we're paying now.

Eventually, we went to the BYU housing bulletin board in the Wilk. We weren't expecting to find anything there because so many people post on KSL or craigslist nowadays, but we found one apartment at a suitable price and with two bedrooms, and we decided to give it a shot. The moment we walked in, we fell in love with it. It felt like we were walking into our own home.

So we thought about it overnight and still felt good about it this morning. We went back to have a second look at it to have some questions answered, and then we signed the contract!

Even better, the owner offered to knock twenty bucks off the rent if we were staying for longer than fourteen months. Conveniently, two years happens to be longer than that, so we got the deal! Yipee!

We're going back tomorrow, and I'll get some pictures to post here.
