It's been raining since yesterday, and the weatherman (who is currently NOT my hero today) says that it's going to continue tomorrow. I'm so excited for the sun to come back!
This past weekend has been nice and rejuvenating, as in, I did no homework over the weekend, because I had no homework over the weekend! I spent it cooking. I made cinnamon rolls Saturday morning, which I'm pretty dang proud of. The first time I made them, I practically botched them. This time around I made them almost perfectly. The dough was the right consistency (not too dry), and they didn't stay in the oven for too long.
Saturday evening, Kyle and I made chili, which was also amazing. The recipe in my cookbook was pretty bland, so we added a ton of spices which made it perfect. Sunday, we made lemon bars and a really good salad for dinner we were having with some friends, only Kyle did most of the baking since I was talking to Mom wishing her a happy Mother's day. Regardless, they were delicious!
In between cooking on Saturday, Kyle and I went up Rock Canyon to go for a little walk. I don't know why, but Kyle doesn't like hiking much. I've tried asking him what poor, deprived soul would not like hiking, and he couldn't explain it very well. The only thing I could possibly figure out is that he went too much as a child, and now he's all hiked out. At least he went, Saturday, because we did have a fun time.
Today, several awesome things happened. I went into my French composition class, and the professor said that the paper we had due Wednesday was now due Friday. I also got my first paper back, and it was an 86. I don't do well with languages, so this grade came as such a relief to me.
Then I went to French literature, and the professor there said that he was going to a conference for the weekend, so there will be no class on Friday. Also, he went over what would be on the test for this week, and it seems like it won't be as awful as I was expecting.
However, the good things don't stop there! Two weeks ago, I went into the bookstore to have them refill my ink cartridge, but for some reason, it took them an eternity to refill it. I went in and asked what was taking so long, they looked to find my cartridge, apologized, and said that because it took so long and no one had called me to let me know that it was ready for me, the refill was free. I can't complain about how long it took, now, because it was free!
Happy Monday, everyone!
