slow day

I had a hard time waking up this morning. My alarm went off, I looked out the window, saw it was pouring rain, and went straight back to bed. Utah rain kills, man.

Then I tried to do homework, but failed in that regard. Instead, I caught up on the news and found out that the world is supposed to end on Saturday. People are spending all of their savings because they think that they're all gonna die come May 21st, which is kinda sad. People will believe anything...

Better get prepared! I'll be bunked out in the basement with my flashlight and emergency kit. Not that the basement will save me from an earthquake, you see. In fact, the whole building will probably just topple down on top of me and crush me to my impending doom... because I'm a wicked Mormon with horns, ya know? (slapstick)

Well, instead of preparing for the Apocalypse on Saturday, I pulled out my viola, dusted off the varnish (actually, it's only been a month since I last played), and practiced for a musical number for Sunday. A girl I know and I are making a compilation of "Lead Kindly Light" and "Be Still My Soul." It's going to be perfectly lovely.

Then I stopped procrastinating and started my homework.

I also listened to a really great French song from the 80s by Jean-Jacques Goldman, "Il Changeait la Vie." My favorite parts are when he sings the title (gosh, he's got a great voice!) and that awesome guitar! Makes me happy. Find an English translation here if you want to know what he's saying. I haven't really looked at it, so if it's a bad translation, I'm sorry. Also I don't feel like explaining it, so look at this other blog to see a cool bit of insight on it.

I also love how they put a saxophone in there, too.

Now it's way past my bedtime, and I need to finish my French paper... au revoir!
