Kyle's interview

Hey all. Just wanted to update on our lives here. Kyle came home yesterday with legs of rubber, and all he wanted to do was sit down and unwind. He told me the interview went pretty well, that only fifteen minutes or so were "interview" material, and the rest of it was fun and games. Nevertheless, he knew he was being watched the entire time by all the professors, and despite the bowling and ropes courses they did, he was stressed the whole time.

I believe we've got something to hope for with BYU, although Kyle feels he got a bit of a mixed message. Most of the professors he talked to were really friendly and acted as though he'd already made it into the program, but one brutally honest professor told him he would be pretty lucky to get in with the grades he had. But then again, that same professor (and others, I should mention) was really impressed with his research background and the paper he published. So, depending on whether they want him for his grades or his resume... I don't exactly know what's going to happen. Good news, though: one of Kyle's professors who had him working in his lab is part of the graduate committee/council, so at least Kyle has somebody to cast him in a good light as they are all reviewing his application.

We'll see what happens.

Still snowing like crazy, so Rachel, if you haven't taken that picture, take it now. It's snowed at least six inches here.

Last night I had a crazy dream about Downton Abbey. Lady Mary had a baby girl, and as the baby was crawling up the stairs, Sybil's daughter pushed her down and the baby died of a concussion. For some reason, the whole family blamed Mr. Mosley for not letting them borrow his micro pillows, which would have somehow saved the baby's life if she could have slept on them. Mr. Mosley always seems to get picked on, poor guy (Kyle likes to call him Bad Luck Butler). Even in my dreams, this show is a tragedy.
